Winery

Located about a quarter mile south of Stags Leap District in Napa Valley, a small family-owned Napa Valley winery is devoted to producing great wines by sustainable agricultural practices with a belief that the earth-friendly farming methods not only create healthier vineyards but also lead to more enjoyable wines. The grapes from this winery offer concentrated, lush aroma and rich flavors.

Vintage

The 2009 summer was cool, long and mild. As the vintage moved closer to harvest, daytime temperatures rose into the 90s while at nighttime they dropped dramatically. This see-saw of heat and cold kept sugar levels climbing at a steady pace, while holding acidity levels in the fruit, creating a delicious balance.

Tasting Notes

OneAsia 2009 Syrah is offering tantalizing, vibrant aromas and flavors of Syrah meatiness and a juicy core of black plum, dark chocolate, smoke, white pepper, blackberry, and crème brulee. The mouthfeel is full and liquid-velvet smooth with a finish that lingers on and on. A bold wine like this complements similar concentrated flavors found in dishes such as Syrah-braised short ribs, smoked lamb, roast duck, as well as beef and game. Aged, dry cheeses such as Cheddar, Abbaye De Belloc, and Manchego also pair deliciously. This vintage will offer even more riches with more time in the cellar.
